AQMD-Regulated Facility Database
The South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) has an online database providing public information about AQMD-regulated facilities. The Facility INformation Detail (FIND) database provides information on facility emissions, permitted equipment and compliance history, as well as information on types of equipment at a facility. Compliance history and emissions data for both smog-forming and toxic emissions by year and pollutant are also available. The database can be searched by:
- Facility name, street name, city, or ZIP code;
- SCAQMD facility identification number, permit application number, violation notice, or SCAQMD Hearing Board case number; or
- Location, using an interactive map (the map displays AQMD-regulated facilities, as well as local schools, streets, and freeways).
US EPA Changes Particulate Matter Standards
US EPA announced adjustments to the national air quality standards. The action changes the 24-hour allowance for fine particulates, such as those that are emitted from coal-fired generation stacks, from 65 micrograms of particles per cubic meter to 35 micrograms of particles per cubic meter of air. The rule revision will place 32 more counties into the non-compliant category.
