Clean Air Markets Division Updated Data and Maps
US EPA Clean Air Markets Division has updated their Data and Maps to include:
- Emissions has a new and more powerful query wizard and quick reports interface to allow you to access unit level and monitoring location level emissions (SO2 tons, NOx rate, NOx tons and CO2 tons) and heat input data;
- Allowances has a new query wizard, quick reports and prepackaged datasets interface which replaces the interactive online reports. This will allow you to access accounts, allowances, transactions, and allowance history data; and
- Facility Attributes and Contacts now has a new query wizard and quick reports interface to allow users to access facility information (unit, facility, owner, representative, location and US EPA/State/local agency staff data) for facilities participating in emissions trading programs.
2004 Is Cleanest Year On Record for Los Angeles Region
The South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) reports that the Los Angeles region has experienced the cleanest year on record for both particulate and ozone air quality since monitoring began in 1987. Particulate and ozone pollution are responsible for a wide range of adverse health effects from increased hospital admissions to increased premature deaths. The clean air was thanks in part to cooler weather and an early start to the rainy season.
