Overview

Hourly data for units in US EPA Clean Air Markets (CAM) programs are available by state from two sources:

Data Files

The data are available in monthly or quarterly files. The files are in Comma Separated Variable (CSV) format compressed as Zip archives. Naming conventions are YYYYStMo.zip or YYYYStQtr.zip, where:

YYYY = Year
St = Two-letter state abbreviation
Mo = Month (01 - 12)
Qtr = Quarter (Q1, Q2, Q3, or Q4)

Note: Monthly data files are available through the last month of the most recently submitted quarterly data. Quarterly data files are available through 2008.

Office of Regulatory Information System Plant Location (ORISPL) Code
Facility ID
Unit ID
Date and Hour
Gross Load (MWe or 1000 lb Steam/h)
SO2 Emission Rate (lb/h and lb/MBtu)
NOx Emission Rate (lb/h and lb/MBtu)
CO2 (tons/h and tons/MBtu)
Total Heat Input (MBtu/h)

Data previously available in Electronic Data Reporting (EDR) files but not available in the hourly files include:

Procedures

To access data from Part 75 Prepackaged Data Sets:

Go to Air Markets Program Data.
Select the Prepackaged Data tab.
In the "Part 75 Emissions Data" section:
- Select "CSV(Hourly)" in the "Format" selection list.
- Select "Quarterly" or "Monthly" From the "Time Frame" selection list.
- Select desired year(s) from the "Years" dropdown list.
- Select desired State(s) From the "States" dropdown list.
- Click "Next Step" button.
Select the desired file(s) from the list in the "Download Manager Link" column.
Click the "Start Download Manager" button.
Extract the downloaded Zip archive file(s).
Open the resulting *.csv file(s) in Microsoft Excel.
View/select data for the desired unit(s).

To access data from the US EPA FTP site:

Go to the FTP Site
Select the monthly/ or quarterly/ folder.
Select the desired year folder.
Select the desired file(s) from the list (format is YYYYStMo.zip or YYYYStQtr.zip).
Extract the Zip archive file(s).
Open the resulting *.csv file(s) in Microsoft Excel.
View/select data for the desired unit(s).
