- Delta Air Quality Services - Project Manager, 2004-2011: Technical support of air emissions measurement projects for petroleum refineries, electric power plants, cement plants, and industrial facilities. Conduct measurements for oxygen (O2), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO2), sulfure oxides (SOx), sulfates, ammonia (NH3), total particulate matter (PM), fine particulate matter (PM10 & PM2.5), metals, Hg, hexavalent chrome, total hydrocarbons (THC), non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC), aldehdydes, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), dioxins/furans, among others.
- Carnot - Senior Project Engineer, 1993-1994: Project manager for the development of a continuous emission monitoring system data acquisition system designed to meet SCAQMD's Rule 218 and RECLAIM program requirements. Also supported Carnot's emission measurement and combustion optimization programs through the development of data acquisition systems for mobile emission measurement laboratories.
- Altech Systems/EcoChem Analytics - Project/Product Manager, 1991-1993: Engineering and management of CEMS projects for electric utility and industrial applications. Application engineering for emerging air emissions monitoring technologies. (Altech Systems is now Altech Environment U.S.A.)
- RC Environmental Services and Technologies - Principal Scientist, 1989-1991: Manager of Western Research Laboratory and investigator for combustion and air pollution control research and development projects. Projects included low-NOx burner design, selective catalytic reduction (SCR) NOx control system development, particulate matter (PM) collection systems, and sulfur oxides (SOx) emissions control, among others.
- University of California, Irvine (UCI), UCI Combustion Laboratory - Research Assistant, 1987-1989: Designed, fabricated, and operated test equipment and instrumentation for fundamental and applied research programs. Characterized fuel injector and swirler performance in a gas turbine combustor using Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA) and a Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer (PDPA). Assisted in the start-up of a new combustion laboratory.
- KVB Engineering - Senior Engineer, 1985-1987: Field engineer for combustion performance-monitor demonstration projects. Developed technical services for cement manufacturing, hazardous waste incineration, and municipal waste incineration.
- GCA Technology Division - Engineer, 1983-1985: Project engineer for combustion-related programs for US EPA and industry. Projects involved new technology evaluations, development of performance standards and measurement procedures, and management of air emissions measurement projects. (GCA is now part of TRC Companies)
- KVB Engineering - Engineer, 1980-1983: Field engineer for combustion and air pollution control projects. Projects involved improving combustion efficiency; reducing NOx, SOx, and PM emissions; evaluating air pollution control device performance; and demonstrating compliance with applicable emissions performance standards.
